The Black Business Alliance (BBA) seeks to enrich the experiences of Black students at the Yale School of Management through academic, professional, and social initiatives. Through these activities we hope to develop Black leaders for business and society while attracting top Black talent to Yale SOM. We also seek to promote awareness of issues of cultural and social importance to black students on campus. 

Our initiatives fall into four categories:

  • Cultural and social enrichment
  • Professional development
  • Alumni relationships
  • Academic support

As a part of our programming,  we facilitate the following events throughout the year: 

Community Dinners - 
Our annual dinners at the homes of Yale SOM professors provide an opportunity to share personal experiences of heritage, identity, and community.

Community Service - BBA members engage with the local New Haven community through volunteer events with community organizations and mentorship programs with local students.

BLACKOUT - Annual event held during black history month intended to showcase the rich culture and vibrancy of the black community. Includes art, dance, song and spoken word by our very talented community within SOM and broader Yale.

Speaker Events - BBA brings in alumni, professors, and artists to engage with the community on socially and professionally relevant topics.
